Finding the right size online can feel uncertain, especially with relaxed silhouettes and natural fabrics. Josephine is designed to feel easy, comfortable and beautifully draped on the body. Many styles include intentional ease rather than a close fit. To make sizing simpler, refer to the measurement guide further down the page.
HOW JOSEPHINE FITS
Many Josephine pieces are designed with ease through the body rather than a close, tailored fit. This creates the relaxed, effortless silhouette the brand is known for.
Depending on the style, garments are sized as:
Runs Small
Designed to sit closer to the body while still allowing comfortable movement.
True To Size
Designed with comfortable room through the body and sleeves.
Oversized Fit
Intentionally cut with extra volume to create a looser silhouette.
If you prefer a neater fit, you may prefer the smaller of your usual sizes. If you enjoy a more relaxed/oversized silhouette, your usual size will typically provide the intended look.

We’ve made a considered update to our sizing for a more balanced fit across the collection.
Styles previously labelled XS/S now align with M.
If you previously wore XS/S and loved the relaxed fit, choose M for a similar feel.
For a neater, less oversized fit, choose the smaller size where available.

How to Measure
- Bust Circumference: Measure around the fullest part of your chest with your arms down.
- Waist Circumference: Measure around the narrowest point of your natural waistline.
- Hip Circumference: Measure around the widest part of your natural hipline.
- Shoulder Width: Measure from your shoulder tip to shoulder tip.
- Inside Leg: Measure from top of your inside leg (at crotch) to your ankle.
- Outer Leg: Measure from the waist to your ankle at the outer leg.
