PROPORTION IS WHERE WE START
Josephine’s design philosophy begins with proportion. We look at the relationship between the silhouette, the body and the way a garment moves, using proportion to create a confident shift in how a piece is experienced.
From there, fabric, garment-craft and detail inform the silhouette. Each element is considered in relation to the others, creating clothing that feels considered but intuitively adaptive to individual cadence and style.

We don’t consider these elements separately.
The fabric informs the silhouette. The silhouette informs the construction. The details refine the proportion. Together, they create the quality and style-craft that define the Josephine expression.
Where we develop custom fabrics, they are woven exclusively for Josephine, allowing us to develop the textile alongside the design. We consider its weight, texture, drape and movement as part of the silhouette, not as an afterthought.
